A little about us…

Thanks for joining me!  To begin, let me introduce our family.  My husband and I have four beautiful children.  After 6 years of dating, we got married.  At the time, my step-daughters were 13 (Andi) and 10 (Summer) and we decided to grow the family.  A year later, Zach was born.  It wasn’t until he was about 5 that we received a diagnosis of Autism.  Once the “girls” were grown and out of the house, we decided it was time to add to our craziness and welcomed another little boy (Kanoa).

Life can certainly get crazy when working with special needs and blended families.  Add to the fact our children span from 2 to 25 and I think it is safe to say we have our hands full.

I decided to start this blog in hopes of welcoming you into our world of special needs.  Acceptance cannot come without understanding which cannot come without walking in someone else’s shoes.  So my plan is to give you the good and the bad and the truly ugly.  Add in a mix of textbook knowledge and hopefully you will gain insight into the Autism world.

So with that, I want to thank you for coming along for the ride!
